MODELS AGAINST MALARIA (MAM)
Models Against Malaria is a flagship anti-malarial advocacy; awareness and prevention initiative of Models Village Foundation.
We are built around professional models as a major advocacy tool for engaging public figures and influencers. This is an attempt to draw stronger attention to malaria while delivering life-saving health supplies and empowerment packages to families in rural communities across Africa. Since inception, we have continuously strived to help highlight major health issues and challenges within Nigeria and across the continent.
Our Missions include the following:
- To distribute safety and sanitation equipment to various communities to prevent epidemic outbreaks and curtail the spread of malaria.
- To launch public campaigns for the eradication of malaria and other infectious diseases among pregnant women and children.
- To ensure at least 80% of targeted population utilizes appropriate malaria preventive measures
- To educate and provide treatment vaccination to targeted population with effective anti-malarial drug
- To provide adequate information to at least 80% of the target populace habitually towards appropriate malaria preventive and treatment measures as necessary
- To ensure the timely availability of appropriate antimalarial medicines and commodities required for prevention and treatment of malaria within the target communities and across.
- To promote good governance and infrastructural development through community awareness campaigns, empowerment and education.
- To hold community workshops in rural areas, coastal slums as well as other strata of the society.
- To strengthen capacity-building efforts aimed at the Youth Health Sector by providing access to information and resources, conducting research and providing training and supplies.
- To wield fashion and modeling to further charitable causes including disease prevention and awareness on environmental degradation.
