Before now, Models Against Malaria (MAM) had a pre-outreach visit to AJEGUNLE-IKORODU which also served as a survey of the community on their living condition before the main campaign. The survey was successful as we were able to engage and ascertain the challenges being faced by the residents. Our survey equally shows that the people in the community were vulnerable to malaria bites due to the state of the environment they are living in.

After our survey we made preparation to conduct a full anti malaria outreach in the community, which successfully took place on the 9th of November, 2019. Unfortunately we met the community in a much worse state as the entire area were flooded after a heavy rain fall. The community lacks good water and have no proper drainage therefore most of the apartment were flooded keeping kids and family outside their homes. Asides from the large presence of mosquitoes in the environment, the residents also faced a high risk of possibly contacting other diseases.
Special appreciation to MOZZI Africa who supported with interventions for vector control aimed at eliminating mosquitoes by providing materials for Indoor residual spray and useful anti malaria products for family protection. Paints and Coatings Manufacturers Nigeria Plc (PCMN) supported with a range of mozzi products.
The residents were all excited as we presented few gifts to families.
