REPORT ON ‘MODELS AGAINST MALARIA’ OUTREACH HELD AT OSHODI, LAGOS, NIGERIA.

With the relatively staggering statistics of Malaria cases in the world, particularly in Africa, we have realised there is still much work left in curtailing its spread in our immediate communities. It is in this spirit that ‘Models Against Malaria’ took to the streets of Oshodi, Lagos, Nigeria in sensitising households on the #EndMalaria course.

The sensitisation programme was established vis-a-vis the mission “to launch public campaigns for the eradication of malaria…” The campaign recorded an impressive success as all hands were on deck in achieving this feat. Anti-Malarial drugs, provided by LumapilForte, as well as treated mosquito nets were distributed to members of households to facilitate our campaign. Pinkberry Nigeria was also instrumental in providing mouth-watering refreshments to volunteers and stakeholders alike. Other than these, there was a conscious attempt at admonishing members of households to be ‘Community Watchdogs’ – This implies that, the fight against malaria is a concerted activity, thus the need for members of communities to engage in sanitisation exercises and other related activities that can curb the spread of malaria.

We are passionate about maintaining a Malaria-free Africa! We are Models Against Malaria! Malaria is preventable and treatable. Together, we can achieve a #HealthForAll!
